The Police have arrested a 65-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of snatch theft along Upper Serangoon Road.

On 22 April 2017, a 41-year-old woman reported that a man came from behind and snatched her wallet while she was walking along Upper Serangoon Road.

Officer from Ang Mo Kio Police Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and established the man’s identity with the aid of Police Cameras. The man was subsequently arrested at Hougang Avenue 7 on 24 April 2018.

The suspect will be charged in court on 25 April 2018 with snatch theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term of not less than one year and not more than 7 years, and shall also be liable to caning.
