The Police have arrested two teenagers aged 19 for their suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft along Lorong 12 Geylang.
On 1 May 2018 at about 1.28 am, a 66-year-old man reported that two teenagers came from behind him and one of them snatched his handphone along Lorong 12 Geylang.
Officers from Bedok Police Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and established the teenagers’ identity with the aid of Police Cameras. The duo was subsequently arrested along Simei Avenue on 9 May 2018.
One of the teenagers will be charged in court on 11 May 2018 with snatch theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term of not less than one year and not more than 7 years, and shall also be liable to caning. Investigations against the other teenager are ongoing.
