The Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft.

On 26 May 2018 at about 8.20 pm, the Police received a report that a 23-year-old man was waiting at a bus stop along Upper Bukit Timah Rd when an unknown man snatched his handphone and fled.

Upon receipt of the report, officers from Jurong Police Division conducted follow-up investigations and established the identity of the man. He was subsequently arrested on 3 June 2018.

The man will be charged in court on 5 June 2018 with snatch theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 which is punishable with imprisonment for a term of not less than one year and not more than 7 years and shall also be liable to caning.
