The police have arrested a 37-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of attempted armed robbery at Block 493D Tampines Street 43.
On 29 June 2018 at about 12:40am, the Police received a report that an unknown man armed with a knife had entered into the lift with a 20-year-old female victim and attempted to rob her.
Officers from Bedok Police Division conducted ground enquiries and with the aid of Police cameras (POLCAM), the identity of the man was established and he was subsequently arrested along Tampines Street 43.
The man will be charged in court on 30 June 2018 with attempted armed robbery under Section 397 read with Section 393 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries an imprisonment term of not less than two years and not more than 7 years, and shall also be liable to canning of not less than 12 strokes.
