On 12 September 2018 at about 11.15am, the Police received a report informing that a woman’s bag had been snatched by an unknown man while she was in the lift at Blk 2 Haig Road. The man then fled via the staircase.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on the same day along Edgedale Plains.

The man will be charged in courts on 14 September 2018 with the offence of snatch theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries an imprisonment term of not less than one year and not more than 7 years, and shall also be liable to canning.
