The Police have arrested a 40-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of armed robbery along Maxwell road.  

On 17 December 2018 at about 11.45 pm, the Police received a report from a female victim that a man, armed with a knife, had robbed her of cash amounting to $1052 along Maxwell Road before fleeing.

Through ground enquiries, officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the suspect. He was subsequently arrested on 19 December 2018 at about 2am along Orchard Road. 

The suspect will be charged in court on 20 December 2018 with armed robbery under Section 392 read with Section 397 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224.  If convicted, he will be punished with imprisonment for a term not less than 3 years and not more than 14 years, and not less than 12 strokes of the cane.
