The Police have arrested a 40-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft of bicycles and e-scooters.
On 30 June 2019 at about 10.45 pm, the Police received a report that a bicycle and an e-scooter were stolen along Lorong 15 Geylang.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 1 July 2019. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in other similar theft cases.
The man will be charged in court on 3 July 2019 with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he shall be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or with both.
