The Police have arrested a 27-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft of bicycle.
On 1 November 2019 at about 10.15am, the Police received a report that a bicycle, which was parked near the vicinity of Aljunied MRT station, was stolen. Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 18 November 2019 along Lorong 18 Geylang. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is also believed to be involved in a case theft of e-scooter reported at Bishan Street 13.
Investigations are ongoing. The offence of theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 carries a jail term of up to 3 years, or a fine, or both.
