The Police have arrested a 35-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft of alcohol cases.
On 6 June 2021, the Police received a report that alcohol was missing from a supermarket along Orchard Road.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of CCTV cameras, officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 9 June 2021. A total of 204 bottles of alcohol were seized as case exhibits. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is also believed to be involved in other similar cases of theft of alcohol along Orchard Road.
Police investigations are ongoing.
The 35-year-old man will be charged in court on 11 June 2021 with theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code which carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years and a fine.
