The Police have arrested a 44-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft of bicycle cases.
On 29 June 2021, the Police were alerted to a case where a bicycle was reported stolen from the void deck of Blk 216 Bukit Batok Street 21.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within five hours of the reported crime. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in two other similar cases reported in the vicinity.
The man will be charged in court on 1 July 2021 with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 3 years, a fine, or both.
