There will be a change of command at Central Police Division on 17 September 2021.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police (DAC) Ang Boon Sheng, Jeremy (汪文胜) will assume the command of Central Police Division on 17 September 2021. He will take over from Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Gregory Tan Siew Hin (陈秀鑫) who will assume the appointment of Deputy Director of the Police Operations Department on the same day.

DAC Ang, 34, joined the Singapore Police Force (SPF) in 2006. He has served 15 years with the SPF and has held several key appointments including Commanding Officer of Bukit Batok Neighbourhood Police Centre, Head Operations and Training of Central Police Division, Assistant Director (Home Team Operations Management) of the Joint Operations Group, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Deputy Commander of Woodlands Police Division.

AC Tan, 38, who was appointed Commander of Central Police Division on 13 August 2018, joined the SPF in 2002. In his 19 years with the SPF, he has held several key appointments, including Commanding Officer of Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police Centre, Senior Assistant Director (Operations Planning) of the Joint Operations Group, MHA, Head Technical Research Branch of the Police Intelligence Department, Deputy Director (Security and Resilience) of the Strategy Group, Prime Minister’s Office and Deputy Commander of Central Police Division.

As Commander of Central Police Division, AC Tan oversaw many major security operations such as the Trump-Kim Summit in June 2018, the 33rd ASEAN Summit in November 2018, Formula One races in 2018 and 2019, National Day Parades between 2019 and 2021, the COVID-19 operations at migrant worker dormitories and the General Elections in 2020. Beyond the operational successes, AC Tan implemented new operational concepts and capabilities, such as the In-situ Reaction Team in Central Police Division to improve public security and safety.

Reflecting on his tenure as Commander of Central Police Division, AC Tan said, “Policing is a tough job. Despite the challenges brought forth by COVID-19, the Police and Central Police Division continue to enjoy strong support and partnership with community leaders, Safety and Security Watch Group (SSWG) stakeholders, other partners, as well as the public. I am grateful for this whole-of-community effort that has helped us to safeguard the high-profile terrain which we police, and the many high-profile security events which we run. This has fuelled our operational successes and contributed to the sense of safety we all enjoy today. I am extremely thankful for the dedication, hard work and sacrifices of officers in Central Police Division, and have no doubt that Central Police Division’s flag will continue flying high under the leadership of DAC Jeremy Ang.”
