The Police have arrested a 51-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On 14 February 2022, the Police received a report that a victim was purportedly molested by a man along Boon Tiong Road.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from Police and CCTV cameras, officers from the Central Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 15 February 2022.
The man will be charged in court on 17 February 2022 with outrage of modesty, punishable under Sec 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to two years, or a fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments.
The Police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the safety of the community. They will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law.
