The Police have arrested a 30-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On 21 March 2022, at about 1.10am, the Police were alerted to a case of outrage of modesty at the platform of Woodlands MRT station, involving a female victim.
Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him.
The man will be charged in court on 24 March 2022 with outrage of modesty, punishable under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to three years, or caning, or a fine, or any combination of such punishments.
The Police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the safety of the community. They will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law.
