The Police have arrested a 39-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On 15 May 2022 at about 8.15pm, the Police received a report from the victim’s father informing that his child was purportedly molested by an unknown man at a playground in Choa Chu Kang. Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 19 May 2022 at about 8.30pm.
The man will be charged in court on 21 May 2022. The offence of outrage of modesty, punishable under Section 354(2) Penal Code 1871, carries an imprisonment term of up to five years, a fine, caning, or any combination of such punishments.
