The Police have arrested a 29-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On 3 September 2022 at about 11.00 pm, the Police were alerted to a case where a woman was purportedly molested by a man while inside a lift along Tampines Avenue 2.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTVs and police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within three hours from the report.
The man will be charged in court on 5 September 2022. The offence of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871 carries an imprisonment term of up to three years, a fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments.
