The Police have arrested a 25-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of aggravated outrage of modesty.
On 1 January 2023 at about 3.20am, the Police received information that a woman was molested along Siloso Beach Walk. Through follow-up investigations, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within two hours from the report.
The man will be charged in court on the 2 January 2023. The offence of aggravated outrage of modesty, punishable under Section 354A(1) of the Penal Code 1871, carries an imprisonment for a term of not less than two years and not more than 10 years, and caning.
The Police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the personal safety of the community. Offenders will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law.
