Mr Goh Pei Ming, Minister of State (MOS) for Home Affairs and Social and Family Development, launched an Anti-Scam Exhibition, located at Serangoon Garden Neighbourhood Police Post (NPP) on 19 July 2025. The event was attended by grassroots leaders and community stakeholders who share our commitment to fight scams.
The exhibition features four key interactive elements: a Scam Education Gallery showcasing prevalent scam types and trends, a Roblox MATA-verse zone for redemption of limited-edition vehicle skins, an interactive quiz corner with prizes to be won, an interactive maze board game which incorporates scam education and an AI-powered photobooth with entertaining photo filters.
The launch was part of the carnival styled Scam-tastic Day event, organised for the community, from 10am to 2pm, where additional scam education booths and family friendly activities were organised.
Commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Tan Tian Yeow said, “The Police are committed to pursuing scammers relentlessly, and protecting our community from financial harm caused by scams. Through this exhibition, we seek to raise the vigilance of our community, as well as share how they can protect themselves and educate their family and friends against scams. Let’s work together to create a scam-free community!”
The Serangoon Garden NPP’s Anti-Scam Exhibition will be open to the public daily from 8am to 10pm. This new exhibition complements existing outreach efforts and serves as a community space to engage in activities to encourage adoption of behaviours that can help individuals ACT against scams.
Members of the public are encouraged to adopt the following protective measures to protect themselves against scams:
- ADD – ScamShield App and anti-virus app to your mobile devices and set security features to your online accounts (e.g., enable two-factor (2FA) or multifactor authentication for online accounts and set transaction limits on internet banking transactions. Add a Money Lock feature to further secure savings in bank accounts from scams).
- CHECK – Look out for scam signs. Call and check with the 24/7 ScamShield Helpline at 1799 if you are unsure if something is a scam. You can also check the legitimacy of suspicious phone numbers, messages and website links with the ScamShield App
- TELL – Authorities, family, and friends about scams. You can also share your scam encounters via the ScamShield app. Your sharing can help prevent others from being scammed.
Fighting scams is a community effort. Together, we can ACT Against Scams to safeguard our community!
