Police have arrested a 28-year-old man suspected to be involved in a case of theft of motorcycle in the vicinity of Woodlands Drive 14.

 

2          On 6 January 2015, officers from the Jurong Police Division received a report of a stolen motorcycle. Through extensive ground enquiries and investigations, officers located the stolen motorcycle along Champions Way on 8 January 2015 at about 10 am. With the aid of CCTV footage, Police arrested the male suspect on the same day.

 

3          The suspect will be charged in Court on 10 January 2015 for the offence of Theft of Motor Vehicle under Section 379A of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he faces an imprisonment term of up to 7 years and shall also be liable to be fined.

 

4          Police would like to remind motorcycle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

  • Park your motor vehicle in well-lit areas;

  • Remove the ignition key and lock the motor vehicle whenever it is left unattended, even if it is only for short moment;

  • Use additional locking devices on your motorcycles, such as disc brake locks; and

  • Install an anti-theft alarm.
