The Police have arrested a 36-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On 25 January 2022 at about 9.40am, the Police received a report that a female victim was purportedly molested by a man at Lucky Plaza Shopping Centre.
Through follow-up investigation and with the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within three hours of the reported incident.
The man will be charged in court on 27 January 2022 for the offence of outrage of modesty, punishable under Sec 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to two years, or a fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments.
The Police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the safety of the community. They will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law.
