To convert a foreign driving licence to a Singapore driving licence, applicants must first complete the Foreign Licence Pre-assessment. Eligible applicants will receive a link to book an appointment. Only after securing an appointment should applicants present themselves at Traffic Police Headquarters (10 Ubi Avenue 3, Singapore 408865).
1.1 Pre-requisites or Eligibility Criteria
The key eligibility criteria, not limited to the ones below, are:
- Pass the Basic Theory Test (BTT) in Singapore
- Hold a valid foreign driving licence that has not expired, been suspended, or cancelled
- For Permanent Residents and pass holders (Work Permit/Employment Pass/Student Pass)
- If your foreign driving licence was obtained after getting PR status or first pass, you must provide documents proving a minimum 6-month stay within a 12-month period in the country where the foreign licence was issued
- For Singapore Citizens applying with a foreign driving licence: You must provide documents proving a minimum 6-month stay within a 12-month period in the country where the foreign licence was issued
- Be at least 18 years old to convert your licence for Class 3/3A and Class 2B
