The Singapore Police Force (SPF) plays a critical role in Singapore's Criminal Justice System with its mission to prevent, deter and detect crime. Police Intelligence Department is responsible for providing intelligence to support operations and investigations in the SPF. You will be placed on the Home Team Specialist Scheme in the Police Intelligence Department.

Analyst

As an Analyst, you play an integral role in crime fighting and prevention by providing timely and pertinent analysis about crime patterns, trends and emerging threats.

You will be responsible for collating and enriching information, assessing and researching on a range of data including crime activity and criminal details, and producing actionable intelligence and reports to aid in decision-making.

Specialised skills, including statistical and visualisation techniques, geospatial and criminal profiling, will be employed to connect the dots and draw links across the mass of information. In addition, strategic analysis is conducted via horizon scanning and sense-making to produce assessments on emerging trends and new threats to the law enforcement landscape.

Requirements

Analyst

A background in criminology, intelligence, data analytics, computer science, statistics, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
A curious, analytical, and self-motivated mindset, with the ability to take ownership, work in a fast-paced environment, and apply sound judgment and integrity.
Strong research, problem-solving, critical thinking, and writing skills, with the ability to identify patterns, assess risks, and synthesise information from multiple sources.
The ability to communicate clearly through written reports and presentations, and to engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with SQL, Tableau, R, Python would be advantageous.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted working relationships and contribute positively to shared outcomes.
Attention to detail and possess the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
Keen interest in interpreting data to discover insights, draw inferences and give recommendations.
An interest in current affairs, crime, and how local and global developments can influence priorities and decision-making in the Police Force.

Home Team Specialist (Analyst) - Grade 13 (entry grade)	$4,488 – $5,292

* Appointment grade and starting salary will vary and commensurate according to assessment of the fit of academic qualifications, relevant/useful work experiences and completion of Full-Time National Service.
