The Singapore Police Force (SPF) plays a critical role in Singapore's Criminal Justice System with its mission to prevent, deter and detect crime. Police Intelligence Department is responsible for providing intelligence to support operations and investigations in the SPF. You will be placed on the Home Team Specialist Scheme in the Police Intelligence Department.

Analyst

As an Analyst, you play an integral role in crime fighting and prevention by providing timely and pertinent analysis about crime patterns, trends and emerging threats.

You will be responsible for collating and enriching information, assessing and researching on a range of data including crime activity and criminal details, and producing actionable intelligence and reports to aid in decision-making.

Specialised skills, including statistical and visualisation techniques, geospatial and criminal profiling, will be employed to connect the dots and draw links across the mass of information. In addition, strategic analysis is conducted via horizon scanning and sense-making to produce assessments on emerging trends and new threats to the law enforcement landscape.

  • Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics preferred.

  • Personality: Strong sense of integrity, self-driven, inquisitive, creative and resourceful. Preference to work in a challenging and ever-changing operating environment.

  • Emotional Resilience: Able to perform effectively under stressful situations and difficult circumstances.

  • Effective Communication: Able to communicate both verbally and in writing effectively. Adept in using Microsoft Office XP, particularly 'Excel', Word, and 'PowerPoint' functions.

  • Research skills: Able to conduct sound research to gather relevant information and apply suitable analytical skills to discover insights, draw conclusions and give recommendations.

  • Analytical skills: Able to logically critique a point of view and think through the issue from different angles, approaches and perspectives to give a valid and sound assessment.

  • Knowledge in Current Affairs: Able to appreciate developments in the local and international arenas and how they might have an impact on the Police Force.
