Man Arrested For A Series Of Theft Cases

The Police have arrested a 48-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft cases.

Between 15 and 25 August 2025, the Police received multiple reports of theft and a suspicious character loitering in the vicinity of Yishun Ring Road:

  • On 15 August 2025, a victim reported that her jacket was stolen by a man from the common corridor of her residential unit.

  • On 16 August 2025, another victim reported that his shirt and pants were missing from his laundry rack along the common corridor of his residential unit.

  • Between 17 and 25 August 2025, there were several reports of a suspicious person loitering at common corridor of several residential blocks in the vicinity of Yishun Ring Road.

Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTV images, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 28 August 2025. The jacket allegedly stolen from the first victim was recovered from the man.

The man will be charged in court on 30 August 2025 with the offence of theft, punishable under Section 379 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to three years or a fine, or both.
