Man Arrested For Outrage Of Modesty

The Police have arrested a 35-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
 
On 7 September 2025 at about 11.30pm, the Police were alerted to a case of outrage of modesty along Woodlands Road.

Upon Police’s arrival, officers found a 35-year-old man detained by a staff member of Kranji MRT station. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim, a 38-year-old woman, had sought the assistance of station staff after she was allegedly molested in the vicinity of Kranji MRT station.

The man will be charged in court on 9 September 2025 with the offence of outrage of modesty, punishable under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment which may extend to three years, a fine, caning, or any combination of such punishments.

The Police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the personal safety of the community. Offenders will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law. The Police would also like to urge members of the public to remain vigilant and to report the matter to the Police immediately, if they witnessed an incident of molestation, or are aware of someone being a victim of molestation.
