ONE Countdown 2026 will usher in the new year with celebrations across multiple locations island wide. Beyond the celebrations at Marina Bay and The Kallang (formerly known as Singapore Sports Hub), there will be celebrations organised at Sentosa, Clarke Quay and various heartland locations.

Security personnel deployed at the various celebrations may conduct checks on members of the public, including their bags and personal items. Members of the public are advised to cooperate with these personnel to facilitate the checks. The Police would also like to remind the public to remain vigilant and adopt the following crime prevention measures:

  1. Look after your belongings at all times, especially in crowded areas;
  2. Be cautious when approached by strangers who try to get very close to you;
  3. Stay close to your friends or move around in groups;
  4. Be vigilant against molesters and pickpockets;
  5. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash or wearing excessive jewellery to crowded places;
  6. Ensure your bag is closed at all times and sling it in front;
  7. Avoid placing your wallet in your back pocket;
  8. Take note of crowd advisories and comply with instructions from officers and deployed personnel;
  9. Avoid contact or confrontations with unruly crowds; and
  10. Approach any Police officer or dial ‘999’ for urgent assistance.

Members of the public are reminded not to engage in activities that may compromise the safety of others. The Police will not hesitate to take action against anyone who causes public nuisance, acts rashly or breaks the law.

As we enjoy the festivities, we urge everyone to remain vigilant and play their part in our fight against crime and terrorism. Anyone with information on suspicious persons or activities can contact the Internal Security Department at 1800-2626-473 or the Police at 999, SMS to 70999 or submit the information online at www.police.gov.sg/i-witness or report it via the SGSecure mobile application.

Security and Traffic Arrangements for the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2026 and ONE Countdown 2026 at The Kallang

The Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2026 (MBSC 2026) and ONE Countdown 2026 at The Kallang will be held on 31 December 2025 through to the early hours of 1 January 2026.

Very large crowds are expected to join in the festivities around the Marina Bay and Kallang Basin areas. Members of the public are encouraged to check the Crowd@MarinaBay (https://go.gov.sg/crowd-at-marina-bay) and Crowd@Kallang (https://go.gov.sg/crowd-at-kallang) portals to view real-time crowd levels, images of the crowd situation and area closures before heading to Marina Bay and Kallang Basin areas for the festivities. These portals will be accessible via mobile devices on 31 December 2025, from 7.00pm for Marina Bay and 8.30pm for Kallang Basin. Please refer to Annex A for the QR Codes linked to the Crowd@MarinaBay and Crowd@Kallang maps.

Police officers, auxiliary police officers, and security officers will be deployed to ensure the safety and security of the public, as well as to manage crowds in the vicinity of Marina Bay and The Kallang. Officers from Police Land Divisions including Emergency Response Teams, Aerial Response Teams, Special Operations Command, Protective Security Command, Public Transport Security Command, Police Coast Guard, and the Traffic Police will also be conducting enhanced patrols during this period.

Members of the public are strongly advised not to cycle in the vicinity of Marina Bay and Kallang Basin as the area will be congested and the risk of causing hurt to self and others in the event of a collision is high.

To prevent overcrowding, Police officers and security personnel will regulate the number of people entering The Promontory, One Fullerton / Merlion Park, Esplanade Park, Esplanade Waterfront Promenade, Marina Bay Sands Waterfront Promenade, and other areas within the vicinity of Marina Bay. Similar crowd control measures will be implemented at Stadium Roar, Stadium Riverside Walk, Beach Volleyball Court, Lawn Bowl, Tanjong Rhu Promenade and Water Sports Centre at the Kallang Basin. When the crowd levels at these areas reach the safety thresholds, these areas will be closed to ensure public safety. Please refer to Annex B for the possible areas of closure.

In addition, certain entrances/exits of MRT stations around the Marina Bay and Kallang Basin will be closed to regulate crowd flow. In the event of overcrowding, trains may bypass some stations, such as Bayfront MRT Station and Stadium MRT Station, to divert crowds away from these affected areas. Members of the public are advised to be patient and to follow the instructions of security personnel on duty.

MRT stations including City Hall, Raffles Place, Bayfront, Stadium, Tanjong Rhu and Nicoll Highway MRT stations, are expected to be very crowded. Members of public are encouraged to use other nearby alternatives such as Esplanade, Promenade, Downtown, Marina Bay, Kallang and Mountbatten MRT stations.

The footways along the Esplanade Bridge, Bayfront Avenue, Merdeka Bridge and Tanjong Rhu Bridge are for transit purposes only. Pedestrians will not be allowed to stop and congregate on these footways.

Traffic Arrangements

To facilitate the event, the following roads and lanes will be closed to all vehicular traffic during the stipulated periods:

The open space carpark along Bayfront Avenue will also be closed. Members of the public are advised to take public transport to the Marina Bay as parking spaces in the vicinity are expected to be limited. Vehicles parked in buildings located within the closed roads may not be able to exit during the period of road closures. Please refer to the road closure map below.

Auxiliary police officers will be stationed at all affected road junctions to regulate traffic and assist motorists. Traffic Advisory Signs and electronic Variable Message Signs will also be put up near the affected roads. Motorists are encouraged to tune in to the radio for the latest traffic updates.

Parking at peripheral roads and stopping of vehicles along ECP (Benjamin Sheares Bridge) and Tanjong Rhu to watch the fireworks are strictly prohibited. As per past years, the Traffic Police will be deployed to take enforcement action against errant motorists. Vehicles causing obstruction will also be towed.

For public safety, the Police will also temporarily close one carriageway of Sheares Avenue towards Marina Bay Sands (MBS) from 31 December 2025, 11.30pm to 12.15am the following day. Alternative access to MBS remains available via the MCE-AYE route.

Establishment of Temporary Restricted Areas (TRA)

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) will be establishing Temporary Restricted Areas (TRA) at the following locations (refer to Annex C1 and C2 for details):

20251228_safety_and_security_arrangements_for_one_countdown_2026_5

During the above-stated date and times, the conduct of all aerial activities including kite flying, hoisting of captive balloons and flying of unmanned aircraft such as drones within and into the TRA is prohibited. Unauthorised conduct of aerial and unmanned aircraft activities within the TRA is an offence under the Air Navigation Order (ANO) and the Air Navigation (101 – Unmanned Aircraft Operations) Regulations 2019 (ANR-101) respectively. The penalty upon conviction for the offence under the ANO is a fine of up to S$20,000 for the first offence, and a fine of up to S$40,000 or imprisonment of up to 15 months, or both, for the second and subsequent offence. The penalty upon conviction for the offence under the ANR-101 is a fine of up to S$50,000 or imprisonment of up to two years, or both, for the first offence, and a fine of up to S$100,000 or imprisonment of up to five years, or both, for the second and subsequent offence.

In addition to the TRA, existing restrictions on the conduct of aerial and unmanned aircraft activities within 5km of aerodomes, Danger Areas, Prohibited Areas, Restricted Areas and Protect Areas remain in force. Members of the public are reminded to check OneMap.sg or the OneMap app for information on areas where the conduct of aerial and unmanned aircraft activities is prohibited or requires a permit.

Post-Event Dispersal

Public Transport Operators have announced a significant extension of service hours to accommodate the year-end festive activities, so there will not be a need to rush after midnight to catch the last trains. After the event, dispersal is likely to be slow and will take considerable time due to the large crowds. There will be designated routes out of Marina Bay and Kallang Basin to facilitate safe and orderly dispersal. Signage will be put up to guide members of the public on the route to be taken for dispersal. Crowd flow into the train stations will also be regulated to prevent overcrowding within the stations. Members of the public may also be directed to other MRT stations nearby to avoid overcrowding at certain MRT stations. We seek your understanding to head to these less-crowded MRT stations and use the inter-connected MRT networks to get to your intended destination. We also seek the public’s understanding that heavy traffic and delays are to be expected. Alternatively, you can head to the other island-wide festivities including those at the heartlands for a more convenient and fuss-free journey home. Visit https://www.gowhere.gov.sg/onecountdown/ for more details on celebrations near you.

While the Police have put in place enhanced security measures, everyone has a role to play in ensuring the safety and security of Singapore.
