The Police have arrested three men, aged between 20 and 21, for their suspected involvement in a case of rioting.
On 10 May 2026 at 3.15am, the Police were alerted to a fight along Eu Tong Sen Street. Preliminary investigations revealed that the three men had attacked a male victim following a dispute. The 18-year-old male victim sustained lacerations to his lips and was conveyed conscious to the hospital.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTVs and Police cameras, officers from Central Police Division established the identities of the persons involved and arrested them on the same day.
The three men will be charged in court on 12 May 2026 with the offence of rioting under Section 147 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years and caning. Police investigations are ongoing to trace the remaining assailants.
The Police have zero tolerance for such brazen acts of violence that threaten public safety. The Police will spare no effort to apprehend those who commit violence and will take firm action against them in accordance with the law.
