Speed Management Measures Along Bukit Timah Expressway

The Traffic Police (TP) is enhancing speed management measures along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) to improve road safety for all road users.

A mobile speed camera has been placed along the BKE(Woodlands) 9km after Turf Club Avenue exit for testing and calibration since 16 June 2026. The camera will be operationalised with effect from 1 July 2026. Motorists are advised to adhere to the speed limits at all times.

To complement these efforts, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) introduced speed regulating strips near Exit 10B of the BKE in November 2025. These strips are designed to encourage drivers to slow down as they approach the affected stretch.

Foreign-registered vehicles with outstanding fines for traffic, parking or vehicular emissions offences committed in Singapore may be denied entry at the land checkpoints. From 2 November 2026, such vehicles will also not be able to apply for or renew their Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) with LTA. Foreign-registered vehicles should therefore check for any outstanding fines at www.axs.com.sg and settle them promptly before applying for or renewing their VEP at LTA’s OneMotoring website, and before travelling to Singapore. Fines can be paid via the following channels (a detailed list of payment options applicable to the respective agencies is listed in Annex A):

  1. AXS kiosks, AXS website and AXS mobile app;

  2. Respective agencies’ websites; or

  3. Respective agencies’ customer service counters.

All motorists, are urged to observe traffic laws and speed limits, be patient and considerate towards other road users, and ensure their outstanding fines are settled promptly before travelling in and out of Singapore.
