On 12 September 2026, in conjunction with the National Bikers' Weekend (NBW) 2026, the Traffic Police (TP) and Singapore Road Safety Council (SRSC), supported by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), National Delivery Champion Association (NDCA) and Singapore Motor Cycle Trade Association (SMCTA), launched the Singapore Ride Safe (SRS) 2026 campaign at Singapore Expo. Ms Sim Ann, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs and Second Minister for Home Affairs, was the Guest of Honour.

Motorcyclists continue to account for a disproportionate number of traffic casualties. In the first half of 2026, motorcyclists and pillion riders were involved in 55.6% of all traffic accidents resulting in injuries and death and accounted for 45.9% of all road deaths. Through SRS 2026, TP and its partners aim to strengthen safe riding habits and raise road safety awareness among riders. 

'Ride Smart, Ride Safe' Workshop for Platform Workers

To better support platform workers who provide food delivery and courier services, TP has partnered with the NDCA, Bukit Batok Driving Centre, Singapore Safety Driving Centre, ComfortDelGro Driving Centre and platform operators to introduce the 'Ride Smart, Ride Safe' Workshop. The workshop will provide about 1,400 platform workers with monthly defensive riding lessons at the Singapore Safety Driving Centre over the next two years, with instructors drawn from all three driving centres.

Refreshed R.I.D.E. Visuals

As part of the campaign, TP will roll out refreshed R.I.D.E. visuals across delivery applications and motorcycle parking lots at participating malls amongst other public touchpoints, to reinforce key pre-ride safety habits: 

• Riding gear: Wear an approved helmet, riding jacket, gloves, and covered footwear.  
• Inspect: Check your motorcycle’s tires, brakes and lights are in good working condition before every ride. 
• Do not take risks: Obey traffic rules, keep within speed limits and ride safely and responsibly. 
• Every ride matters: Every decision on the road affects not only you, but also your loved ones and other road users.

Launch of Video Campaign on Safe Riding

A video campaign will also be launched on the "Use Your RoadSense" Facebook page and partners' social media platforms from 12 September 2026. The videos feature motorcyclists and delivery riders who survived traffic accidents and highlight the importance of safe riding practices and proper protective gear in reducing the risk of serious injury.

Building a Safer Motorcycling Community

SRS 2026 reflects TP and SRSC's continued commitment to building a safer motorcycling community in Singapore, where riders take ownership of their own safety and that of others on the road.

Commander of Traffic Police, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SAC), Serene Chiu said, "Motorcyclists continue to account for a disproportionate number of traffic casualties. TP will continue to work closely with our stakeholders and partners to engage the motorcycling community, promote safe riding practices and deter dangerous road behaviour. Road safety is a shared responsibility. I urge all motorcyclists to gear up properly, ride responsibly, and make every ride a safe one." 

Chairman of the SRSC, Mr Patrick Kho said, “Motorcyclists remain among the most vulnerable road users, and every accident can have a lasting impact on families and the wider community. We encourage all riders to build good road safety habits by staying alert, riding at safe speeds, maintaining a safe distance and exercising proper lookout when changing lanes. At the same time, all motorists can play their part by giving fellow motorcyclists sufficient space and consideration on the road. Through sustained road safety education, public outreach and collaboration with our partners, we hope to foster a safer and more gracious road culture where everyone plays their part in keeping our roads safe.”
