The arrival of each MRT train often marks the start of another patrol for the Public Transport Security Command (TransCom) officers safeguarding our public land transport network. Behind the everyday commute that passengers know so well are these officers, quietly ensuring that every journey is a safe one.

Overseeing daily ground operations for his team of TransCom officers is Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mohammad Fadzli Bin Supa’ad. His goal? To help them ensure the safety and security of thousands of commuters every day.

ASP Fadzli joined the Singapore Police Force (SPF) in 2009 and hasn’t looked back since. “I’ve always wanted to contribute to society,” he shared. “When I joined SPF, I knew that it was the platform that would allow me to answer that calling.”

This journey would bring him to TransCom, where he has spent the past three-and-a-half years helping to safeguard Singapore’s public land transport network.

A Leader for His Team

As a TransCom Team Leader, ASP Fadzli commands a team of officers comprising both SPF regulars and Full-time Police National Service officers. He also coordinates responses to incidents within the public land transport network.

“I believe that all operations should be conducted to the highest standard,” he said. “Above all, every officer should return home safe and sound to their family.”

Besides these duties, ASP Fadzli also plays an active role in community engagement, working to build a safer public transport experience for the elderly and children. He does this by helping to raise anti-crime awareness among commuters.

Six Days, Shoulder to Shoulder

As a Team Leader, ASP Fadzli is responsible for every officer under his charge. Whether it’s conducting post-operation debriefs or offering guidance on their personal and professional growth, he leads by example, believing that leadership is demonstrated through actions rather than words.

One moment would become a defining test of his leadership. During the six-day disruption of the East-West MRT Line in September 2024, he led his team through a fast-paced and evolving operation, ensuring commuter safety and maintaining public order.

He said, “When my team was deployed during the incident, it required us to respond immediately in a highly dynamic and rapidly changing environment.”

With information streaming in from his officers on the ground, ASP Fadzli moved quickly – relaying reports to the command centre, assessing the situation and making swift decisions on officer deployment.

But managing the operation was only half the challenge. By staying calm under pressure and prioritising both operational needs and his officers' welfare, he guided his team through six consecutive days of deployments.

“I’m especially proud of my team when they displayed resilience, discipline and teamwork under pressure, all while putting the needs of the public above their own comfort,” he said.

According to ASP Fadzli, the greatest strength of his team goes beyond the work they do – it’s the bond they share. “We’re a close-knit team; solid as a rock,” he said. Built on trust, respect and unwavering support, the team celebrates each other’s successes and stands together through challenges.

A Recognition Shared

ASP Fadzli's dedication and leadership were recognised at the Commissioner of Police’s Commendation Ceremony in December 2025, when he received the Commendation Award for maintaining a high standard of performance as a TransCom Team Leader.

For ASP Fadzli, the recognition belongs to everyone who made it possible. “This award is a testament to all the officers in my team who’ve worked tirelessly behind the scenes, as well as the TransCom Command Office, who’ve guided and supported me throughout my leadership journey,” he said.

As thousands of commuters make their daily journeys across Singapore’s public land transport network, TransCom officers continue to stand watch, ready to respond whenever duty calls. To ASP Fadzli, this is what matters most: “I hope that commuters feel safe, reassured and protected when they see us performing our duties.”
