Man Arrested For Theft In Dwelling

The Police have arrested a 28-year-old man for theft in dwelling.

On 28 January 2021, the Police received a report that food items and Bluetooth speakers were stolen from stalls at a food court located at Harbourfront Centre.

Through investigations and close collaboration with Sentosa rangers and security officers from VivoCity and Harbourfront Centre, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him at Sentosa on 9 February 2021. The man was also allegedly in possession of several credit cards, ez-link cards and one Singapore identification card that did not belong to him.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The offence of theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code carries an imprisonment term which may extend to seven years, and a fine. The offence of criminal trespass under Section 447 of the Penal code carries an imprisonment term which may extend to three months, and a fine which may extend to $1500. The offence of fraudulent possession under Section 35 (1) of the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act carries a fine not exceeding $3000, or an imprisonment term not exceeding one year, or both.
