Man Arrested For A Series Of Theft Of Undergarments

The Police have arrested a 57-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft of undergarments.

On 21 August 2021, the Police received a report on a case of theft of undergarments outside a residential unit along Mei Ling Street.

Through ground enquiries and the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 23 August 2021. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in other similar cases in the vicinity.

The man will be charged in court on 25 August 2021, with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code. The offence carries a jail term which may extend to three years, a fine, or both.
