Five Men Investigated For Illegal Public Gaming

The Police are investigating five men, aged between 58 and 75, for their suspected involvement in illegal public gaming.

Officers from Bedok Police Division conducted enforcement operations in the vicinity of Aljunied Crescent on 7 May 2025. During the operation, gambling paraphernalia and $229 in cash were seized as case exhibits.

Investigations against the five persons are ongoing.

Under Section 20(3) of the Gambling Control Act 2022, any person who gambles with another person from any place in Singapore shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000, or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or both.

The Police take a serious stance against any person involved in illegal gambling activities and offenders will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law. The Police will continue to take tough enforcement action against those involved in such activities.

Members of the public are strongly advised to stay away from illegal gambling activities. They can contact the National Council on Problem Gambling at 1800-6-668-668 if they wish to seek help for gambling addiction.
