I’m Sergeant (Sgt) Si Min, an Investigation Officer (IO) from the Central Police Division.
As an IO, I gather evidence, analyse leads, interview victims, witnesses and suspects to ensure that reported crimes are investigated thoroughly.
Every case is unique and it requires unwavering perseverance to leave no stone unturned in our investigations to bring the truth to light. There is fulfilment in what I do, especially when I bring closure to the victims and see justice being served to the perpetrators.
However, as with every job, there are always challenges. Sometimes the cases can be complex and very often, it is a race against time to trace and arrest the suspects. We will need to have a clear mind and be flexible to adapt our strategies and plan accordingly to the evolving and dynamic situations on the ground.
At the end of the day, what spurs me on is knowing that what I do can positively impact lives and contribute to a safer Singapore.
