I'm Sergeant (Sgt) Lim Wee Ern, a Ground Response Force (GRF) officer from Bukit Merah East Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC).

As GRF officers, we respond to '999' calls and conduct patrols to prevent, deter and detect crime.

On the ground, we face dynamic situations which sometimes can take a 180-degree turn within seconds for the better or for the worse. Thankfully, we undergo rigorous training regularly to equip ourselves to handle such situations professionally. Our top priority in such situations is always to ensure the safety of all parties involved, and if use of force is required, we will apply it proportionately to resolve the incident effectively and restore peace.

I enjoy my job as a GRF officer. It gives me the opportunity to engage and interact with members of the public to find out how we can help improve the safety and security of the community.

When I am able to assist someone in need of our help, it gives me a profound sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
