I’m Station Inspector (SI) Sritharan and I’m a Traffic Police (TP) officer.

My primary responsibilities as a TP officer are to engage and educate road users on good road safety habits and behaviour, and to enforce traffic laws.

One of the challenges I face as a TP officer is dealing with difficult road users. Sometimes, road users can be hostile when they are stopped by us. They may think that they did not commit any traffic violation and would be defensive as they may face a penalty for their driving behaviour. However, this does not deter us from educating them to be responsible road users. It spurs me on to carry out my duties professionally knowing that my work helps everyone return home safely to their loved ones.
