On 2 August 2024, more than 130 officers from various Singapore Police Force (SPF) units came together to celebrate National Day with gusto at the GetActive! Singapore Majulah Fiesta 2024, held at OCBC Square. The event was a lively affair, with Mr Marcus Tan, Chief of Sport Singapore’s (SportSG) Sport Development Group, warmly welcoming our special guests, Commander of the Public Transport Security Command (TransCom), Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Masagoes Idris Hussain, and Commander of the Police Operations Command Centre (POCC), Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SAC) Lee Su Peng.
Kicking off the festivities, AC Masagoes Idris Hussain shared his excitement in the opening address, noting the special touch this year as the event was part of a Wellness in Policing initiative. He highlighted the three pillars of wellness: physical, occupational, and psychological. He encouraged all officers to stay fit and healthy, find joy and purpose in their work, and keep a positive mindset to effectively manage stress.
The atmosphere was electric as officers danced with enthusiasm to this year’s catchy National Day Parade (NDP) theme song, "Not Alone." The day was packed with fun activities, including the National Day Observance Ceremony, energetic mass workouts, thrilling sports try-outs, and friendly games. The camaraderie and sportsmanship displayed by our officers were truly heartwarming.
This fantastic event strengthens bonds through sport, and also reinforces the SPF’s commitment in promoting an active and healthy lifestyle amongst our officers. It reflects our dedication to embody the values of resilience, perseverance and unity.
A big shoutout to our amazing community partner, SportSG, for putting together such a memorable and enjoyable event! Here's to more joyous celebrations and wellness initiatives in the future!
