Integrity

This year, officers of the Singapore Police Force (SPF) demonstrated its commitment to upholding public safety and security. Among the many officers who shared their personal stories with us were Assistant Superintendent of Police Ahmad Khusairi Bin Juraimi (who took part in a daring rescue), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Muhmamad Omar Sharif (who is committed to enhancing the competency of officers in firearms training) and Deputy Assistant Commissioner Tan Su Leng (who contributed to the fight against COVID-19). From recipients of the Sword of Honour and Sword of Merit to innovation award recipients, these officers showed what it means to act with integrity and purpose.

As always, technology plays an integral role in supporting Police operations and deployments. This spirit of innovation was amply demonstrated at the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2022 via the SPF's Crowd@MarinaBay app. Developed by a team from the Central Police Division, it helped to keep members of the public safe by sharing information on crowd control levels. In May 2023, the SPF’s Scam Public Education Office also took its anti-scam messages online to more effectively reach out to the public.

In 2023, Police patrol robots continued to join deployments, showcasing their unique capabilities on the ground. In September 2023, when a bomb disposal operation was conducted at a construction site along Upper Bukit Timah Road, the SPF also deployed unmanned aerial vehicles to successfully support its planning and operations.

Fairness

Ever wanted to know more about the work of our Investigation Officers (IOs)? What does it take to interviews suspects, build a case and bring offenders to justice? Our “IO's Diary” series brought their work into focus by exploring the diverse roles of IOs in the SPF.

Hear from Inspector Benjamin Sim, Acting Inspector Adrian Lim and other IOs as they share their commitment to treating everyone impartially irrespective of circumstances. From mentoring the next generation of IOs to investigating maritime fraud, these narratives reveal the core values of justice, empathy and perseverance within the SPF's investigative community.
