Man Arrested For Housebreaking And Theft

The Police have arrested a 47-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of housebreaking and theft.

On 7 December 2025 at about 12.10pm, the Police were alerted to a case of housebreaking and theft at a residential unit along Circuit Road, where cash amounting to more than $100, a photo frame containing assortments of old collectible currency notes, coins and jewellery valued at about $1,000 and two bottles of liquor valued at about $2,200 were purportedly stolen.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division and Police Operations Command Centre established the identity of the man and arrested him on 8 December 2025. The jewellery were recovered from the man.

The man will be charged in court on 10 December 2025 for the offence of housebreaking and theft under Section 451 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years and a fine.

The Police would like to advise members of the public to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

  • Secure all doors, windows and other openings with good quality grilles and closed-shackle padlocks before leaving your premises unattended, even for a short while;

  • Refrain from keeping large sums of cash and valuables in your premises; and

  • Install a burglar alarm, motion sensor lights and/or CCTVs, to cover the access points into your premises. Ensure that they are tested periodically and are in good working condition.
