The Infrastructure Protection Act (IPA) is part of our national counter-terrorism framework to keep Singapore safe and secure.
The Act provides for the protection of certain areas, places and other premises in Singapore against security risks. It does this through strengthening building security and enhancing the protection of our sensitive locations.
The key features of the IPA are:
Under the IPA, premises may be declared as a Protected Area or Protected Place and/or a Special Development or Special Infrastructure by the Minister.
