Five Arrested For Housebreaking And Theft By Night

Three men and two women, aged between 17 and 24, were arrested for their suspected involvement in a case of housebreaking and theft by night.

On 6 June 2021, the Police received a report that a coffeeshop unit along Senoko Loop was allegedly broken into. Alcoholic drinks amounting to $50/- were reported stolen.

Through ground enquiries, CCTV images and follow-up investigations, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identities of the suspects and arrested them within 48 hours of the report. Police investigations are ongoing.

Anyone charged and convicted with an offence of Housebreaking and Theft under Section 451 of the Penal Code will face an imprisonment term of up to 10 years, and a fine.

The Police would like to advise all property owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

  • Secure all doors, roller shutters, windows and other openings with good quality grilles and closed shackle padlocks before leaving your premises unattended, even for a short while;

  • Refrain from keeping large sums of cash and valuables in any premises; and,

  • Install a burglar alarm, motion sensor lights and/or close circuit surveillance cameras, to cover the access points into your premises. Ensure that they are tested periodically and are in good working condition.
