Five Arrested For Multiple Offences After A Police Raid

The Police have arrested three men and two women, aged between 23 and 37, following a suspected case of unauthorised possession of gun.

On 12 January 2026 at about 4.20pm, the Police were alerted to a suspected case of unauthorised possession of gun at Woodlands Close, Primz Bizhub.

Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Woodlands Police Division and the Criminal Investigation Department established the identity of a 23-year-old man, and arrested him within eight hours.

The 23-year-old man was found in the company of four other persons

The Police found and seized two airsoft guns, one samurai sword, one baton, three machetes, one axe, one dagger, one knuckle duster, one taser, one bag of airsoft metal pellets, one bag of airsoft plastic pellets, two de-registered car plates, 72 SIM cards, etomidate e-vaporiser pods, and items believed to be controlled drugs and drug paraphernalia.

The 23-year-old man and another 34-year-old man will be charged in court on 14 January 2026 with possession of a scheduled weapon under Section 7(1)(a) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.

Under Section 7(1)(a), any person who, otherwise than for a lawful purpose, carries or has in his possession or under his control any scheduled weapon shall be guilty of an offence. For first time offenders, the offence carries an imprisonment term of up to five years and at least six strokes of the cane.

The five persons are also being investigated for various offences under the Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control Act 2021, Road Traffic Act 1961, Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act 1906, Motor Vehicles (Third-Party Risks and Compensation) Act 1960 and Misuse of Drugs Act 1973. The suspected drug related offences have been referred to the Central Narcotics Bureau for investigation.

The Police take a firm stance against illicit activities and acts of violence that threaten public safety. Those who engage in such criminal activities will face the full force of the law. The Police remain committed to keeping our communities safe and will continue to take swift and decisive action against individuals who endanger public security through drug offences and violent behaviour.
