Two Women Arrested For Online Sale Of Counterfeit Goods

The Police have arrested two women, aged 30 and 47, for their suspected involvement in the online sale of counterfeit goods.

Between 27 April 2026 and 19 May 2026, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department conducted raids in the vicinity of Yishun Ring Road, Gambas Crescent, Bukit Batok West Avenue 4 and Bukit Batok Crescent. During the operations, more than 400 purported trademark-infringing goods comprising luxury bags, wallets, watches, sunglasses, pouches and accessories were seized. The estimated street value of the seized items was more than $14,800. Police investigations are ongoing.

Under the Trade Marks Act 1998, the offence of possession of goods with falsely applied trademarks for the purpose of trade carries a fine of up to $100,000, an imprisonment term of up to five years, or both.

The Police take a serious view of intellectual property rights infringement and would like to remind the public that the distribution and sale of counterfeit goods, including through online platforms, are serious offences. The Police will not hesitate to take tough action against those who profit at the expense of legitimate businesses and consumers.
