On 26 June 2026, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) invited 25 female students with a keen interest in policing to the Women in Policing (WIP) Seminar at Woodlands Police Division Headquarters.

After a welcome address and introduction to the Division, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) opened the programme with a live demonstration of their operational capabilities.

An Inside Look

To give participants a real sense of what policing work looks like on the ground, the SPF set up a series of interactive stations.

At the Taser Firing and Laser Hit station, participants had the opportunity to fire a stun device and gun with laser-based simulation system – a highlight that drew plenty of excitement from the crowd.

Participants also had an up-close view of the Next Generation Fast Response Car and the police equipment used by frontline officers.

At the SPARK Innovation Showcase, participants were offered a glimpse into how the SPF is evolving to meet the demands of a changing security landscape through technology and innovative solutions.

Sharing Insights

Another highlight of the programme was an engaging dialogue session with seven senior female officers. Each officer shared candid reflections on their policing careers and scholarship journeys, drawing thoughtful questions from curious participants.

The seminar wrapped up with a lunch reception and networking session, where participants could continue mingling with the panelists in a more relaxed setting. Feedback from students was resoundingly positive, with many leaving with a renewed interest in pursuing a policing career and exploring scholarship opportunities with the SPF.
