    Man Arrested For Theft In Dwelling

    The Police have arrested a 40-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft in dwelling.

    On 24 May 2023 at about 2.15pm, the Police were alerted to a case of theft in dwelling along Ubi Avenue 1, where a man had allegedly entered a shop and stole a money pouch.

    Through ground enquires and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within one hour after the incident was reported. A money pouch and cash amounting to S$539 were recovered.

    The man will be charged in court on 26 May 2023 with the offence of theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code 1871.The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years, and a fine.
