Ten men, aged between 20 and 60, will be charged in court on 15 July 2025 for their suspected involvement in separate cases of molestation.
The cases are as follows:
- On 18 May 2025, a 55-year-old man allegedly molested a 21-year-old woman at a commercial facility along Bayfront Avenue. Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTVs, the Police managed to establish the man’s identity and subsequently arrested him on the same day. The man will be charged with one count of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871.
- On 14 April 2025, a 34-year-old man allegedly molested a 20-year-old woman at a bus stop along Sengkang Central. Through follow-up investigations and with aid of images from Police cameras, the Police managed to establish the man’s identity. He will be charged with one count of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871.
- On 5 April 2025, a 38-year-old man allegedly molested a 34-year-old woman. He was arrested at scene by Police officers who attended to the incident. Further investigations revealed that he allegedly molested another 33-year-old woman sometime in late 2024. The man will be charged with two counts of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871.
- On 4 April 2025, a 19-year-old man allegedly molested a 20-year-old woman onboard a public bus. Through follow-up investigations and with aid of images from Police cameras, the Police managed to establish the man’s identity. The man will be charged with one count of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871.
- On 8 March 2025, a 42-year-old man allegedly molested a 27-year-old woman. He was arrested at scene by Police officers who attended to the incident. The man will be charged with one count of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871.
- On 12 February 2025, a 27-year-old man allegedly molested a 23-year-old woman in a residential unit along Bedok South Road. Through follow-up investigations, the Police managed to establish the man’s identity. The man will be charged with one count of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871.
- On 3 December 2024, a 60-year-old man allegedly molested a 42-year-old man at a commercial facility along Market Street. He was arrested at scene by Police officers who attended to the incident. The man will be charged with one count of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871.
- On 19 November 2024, a 51-year-old man allegedly molested a 13-year-old girl at a commercial building along Mountbatten Road. He was arrested at scene by Police officers who attended to the incident. The man will be charged with one count of outrage of modesty under of a person below 14 years of age Section 354(2) of the Penal Code 1871.
- On 16 November 2024, a 34-year-old man allegedly molested a 23-year-old woman in the vicinity of Jurong Gateway Road. Through follow-up investigations and with aid of images from Police cameras, the Police managed to establish the man’s identity. The man will be charged with one count of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871.
- On 17 August 2024, a 36-year-old man allegedly molested a 25-year-old woman at a club along River Valley Road. He was arrested at scene by Police officers who attended to the incident. The man will be charged with one count of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871.
The offence of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871 carries an imprisonment term which may extend to three years, a fine, caning, or any combination of such punishments. The offence of outrage of modesty of a person below 14 years of age under Section 354(2) of the Penal Code 1871 carries an imprisonment term which may extend to five years, a fine, caning, or any combination of such punishments.
The Police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who prey on unsuspecting victims and threaten the personal safety of those in the community. Offenders will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law. The Police will continue to work closely with various stakeholders, such as public entertainment outlets, public transport operators, and the community, to prevent and deter molestation cases. Members of the public are also encouraged to remain vigilant and report the matter to the Police immediately, if they witness an incident of molestation, or are aware of someone being a victim of molestation.
