Leak Of Traffic Police’s Data Due To Previous Ransomware Attack On Toppan Next Pte Ltd

The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and Police would like to provide an update on the ransomware attack first reported on 6 April 2025 by Toppan Next Tech Pte Ltd (TNT).

On 18 July 2025, about 1,300 names and addresses, believed to be from records from the Traffic Police (TP), was found to have been published online. TP had provided names, addresses, NRIC numbers and details of the traffic violation to TNT (its vendor), for the purpose of printing and bulk mailing correspondences with the affected persons. The names and addresses are believed to have been compromised during the earlier ransomware attack on TNT, and recently published. There is no indication thus far that any other information, i.e. the NRIC numbers of the affected individuals and details of the traffic violation, has been published.

The Police and CSA treat the matter seriously. Police will be notifying affected persons individually as a matter of priority. As a precautionary measure, those affected are advised to remain vigilant by monitoring their personal accounts for any suspicious activities, including potential phishing attempts or suspicious communications. They should report any unusual activity to the Police Hotline at 1800-255-0000 or www.police.gov.sg/i-witness immediately.

This incident was a result of a ransomware attack on TNT’s systems. TP’s systems were not breached. CSA and the Police are working with TNT to strengthen their cybersecurity measures.

Ransomware attacks pose significant risks to organisations, and they are rising in frequency, scale and sophistication. CSA encourages organisations to refer to CSA’s advisory for prevention and mitigation measures to deal with ransomware (link here).
