The Police have arrested a 30-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons.
On 18 August 2025 at about 9.20am, the Police received a call for assistance where a man informed that he was slashed with a knife at 810 Geylang Road. Preliminary investigations revealed that the 30-year-old man purportedly got into a dispute with the male victim and allegedly used a Swiss Army knife to attack the victim.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within six hours of the incident.
The man will be charged in court on 20 August 2025 with the offence of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons under Section 324 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years, a fine, caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
The Police have zero tolerance towards such acts of violence in the community and will not hesitate to take a firm action against those who blatantly disregard the law.
