Meet the dedicated officers working tirelessly to ensure our officers have everything they need for effective frontline operations.

Behind every successful Police operation lies a robust logistics backbone. With the General Elections 2025 (GE2025) in full swing, we shine a spotlight on the Singapore Police Force’s (SPF) Police Logistics Department (PLD), which plays a crucial, behind-the-scenes role in supporting our officers on the frontlines.
When the Writ of Election was issued on 15 April 2025, officers from the PLD sprang into action. While the SPF’s Operations Department takes the lead in overall security operations, PLD plays an equally vital role in equipping and supporting our officers during deployments.
From Command Posts to Crowd Control: Our Officers at Work
PLD’s Logistics Operations Division (LOD) faces one of the most time-critical challenges during the election period – as designated election meeting sites are announced daily, LOD transforms into a hub of rapid coordination and precise execution to ensure that each site is properly set up for security operations.

“Logs makes the ops work.” – DSP David Ou
“There’s a saying we have in PLD: Logs makes the ops work,” shares Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) David Ou of LOD. “We translate plans into concrete action so that our officers on the ground can be deployed effectively.”
With experience as a ground officer during past elections and now in the logistics domain, DSP Ou understands the critical nature of LOD’s work: “Having been on both sides, I know exactly how logistics support can impact security and safety on the ground.”
Helping to making sure that essential infrastructure at election meeting sites is set-up on time is LOD’s Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Fabian Tan. He coordinates between the SPF Operations Department and the appointed contractor onsite. “Tight coordination is critical to ensure that these sites are set up within the stipulated timeline,” he explains.
Whether it’s command posts, safety barriers or lighting systems, the rapid set-up at election meeting sites is key. “Bad weather can cause delays, but that’s where our team’s resilience shows,” says ASP Tan. “From coordinating with stakeholders to conducting site assessments and overseeing construction, our officers work tirelessly to ensure everything is ready before the crowds arrive.”
Equipping the Force: LSSD in Action
PLD’s Logistics Support & Services Division (LSSD) provides officers with general supplies and operational equipment (such as handcuffs, batons, bullet-resistant vests and flashlights) to ensure mission success. During the election period, this work becomes even more critical.
At the Police Logistics Base, ASP Kenneth Teo and Mr Norhalim Nordin lead their teams in maintaining Police equipment readiness and allocating resources. ASP Teo manages the procurement of equipment, drawing on his postings in Land Divisions and duties during past General Elections.
The team manages a wide range of essential items – from handcuffs and batons to bullet-resistant vests and flashlights. Their efficient resource management system, refined through years of experience, allows them to meet operational needs in a timely manner. This becomes especially crucial during election periods when additional equipment is needed to support deployed resources, including activated reservists.
“We need to anticipate requirements and stay ahead of demands,” shares Mr Norhalim. “When units need additional resources to support enhanced deployment, e.g. recalled Police National Service officers, we ensure that they receive the right equipment timely so that they can perform their duties effectively and efficiently.” This proactive approach to resource management helps maintain SPF's operational readiness during this election period.
