Man Arrested For Housebreaking And Outrage Of Modesty

The Police have arrested a 23-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of housebreaking and outrage of modesty.

On 2 January 2021 at about 5 pm, the Police received a report that a woman was molested by a man who had broken into her home of along Jurong East Street 32. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTV images, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 3 January 2021.

The man will be charged in court on the 5 January 2021 with housebreaking under Section 451 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence of housebreaking carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 10 years, and a fine. The offence of outrage of modesty, under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, carries an imprisonment term which may extend to two years, or fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments.
