In a ceremony held at Central Police Division on 23 February 2021, 13 members of the public were commended for their public spiritedness.

On 12 December 2020, 13 members of the public came forward to stop a lamp post from falling onto the road. The lamp post was subsequently brought down safely by the authorities. No one was injured and no property was damaged as a result of their actions.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Gregory Tan Siew Hin, Commander of Central Police Division said “Today, we are pleased to present these awards to the 13 selfless individuals for rendering assistance to prevent injury or property damage from a collapsing lamp post. The Police would like to commend all recipients for their public-spirited acts and will inspire others to step forward to keep our neighbourhood safe.”
