Man Arrested For Snatch Theft

The Police have arrested a 43-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft.

On 19 July 2021 at about 5.30pm, the Police received a report from a taxi driver that he had his handphone snatched from him by an unknown man, along Jurong West Street 52.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the 43-year-old man and arrested him on 20 July 2021.

The man will be charged in court on 22 July 2021 with snatch theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code. The offence carries an imprisonment of not less than one year and not more than seven years, and caning.
